MET Gas was established in 2008 using Mike our directors initials as the name for the company. After being an employee and manager of several plumbing and heating companies, Mike decided he could run his own company and provide a reliable and cost effective plumbing and heating service to the good folk in and around Sheffield.
Mike started out as a sole trader, doing jobs from recommendations and word of mouth,
In 2009 we had grown enough to take on our first employee. We have continued to grow year on year and now have 5 engineers operating from 5 vans
Year on year we have continued to grow taking on highly experienced staff, training existing staff, apprentices graduating, new offices and vans every year, this was mainly due to our customer service levels.
In 2015 Hayley (Mikes Wife) came in to the business full time as and equal shareholder director. Hayley has a varied background in purchasing and accounts, She runs the office and the general day to day operations of the companies.
We consider ourselves very lucky to have such a great team of skilled professionals, who genuinely care and take pride in their work. The saying around our team is often ‘Your only as good as your last job’. And with this in mind our staff continues to retain our excellent reputation. I also like one of my old companies ethos or mottos which was service, quality, reliability.
Our Boiler installer, with over 30 years experience in installing boilers and central heating systems, there’s not much Alan doesn’t know about fitting boilers or heating systems.
An all rounder, Mark is our multi trade operative, generally follows the plumbers round patching ceilings wall etc after Insurance claims.
Hayleys sister, Kim’s talents were wasted as a receptionist for a large solicitor, she was bored in her job and she decided to take the plunge and come and be part of the Met Gas Team, she has picked the job up very quickly all our customers love her bubbly personality.
Married to Mike one of the business’s co owner’s, Hayley worked in finance and business for many years and after returning to work after having twin boys decided her fantastic range of skills would be better used within the family business.
The teams Mascot, some of our long term customer may remember when in his younger years Charlie used to go in the work van with Mike to work, these days he Under Hayley’s Desk in the office.
Having completed an apprenticeship straight from school and gaining further qualifications along the way, Mike now has over 30 years experience in the industry and is passionate about providing Met Gas Plumbers customers with a first class service with a personal touch.
George has been with Met Gas just over three years, After a previous career working for a supplier supplying our spares. George decided that he needed a new challenge, so we gave him a chance to follow his dreams, he had done a full plumbing and heating apprenticeship with Met Gas, and he is a valued member of the team.
Having completed an apprenticeship straight from school and gaining further qualifications along the way, Ash now has over 12years experience in the industry. Many of our customers comment on Ash’s great customer service.
